High Performing Technical Teams

Scientists and engineers, individually or as team members, are often expected to be chameleon-like.

They may be solving problems one minute, being part of a cross-organisational project the next.  Working to their ‘home’ team rules in the morning, satisfying what matters to a client in the afternoon.  Being expected to act as an expert; mentoring those just starting out; reporting at board-level on projects and progress.

This variety in working scenarios, relationships and expectations brings with it many assets… and challenges too.

I decided to explore this further which in turn inspired my white paper, Building High Performing Technical Teams.

Designed for people who lead, or aspire to lead, technical or technically-orientated groups it presents insights and tools to help build or sustain high performing technical teams; addressing performance and value, organisational impact and leadership.

Building High Performing Technical Teams includes…

  • Technical talent: assets & challenges
  • Understanding performance & value
  • Team dynamics & culture conflict
  • Leadership & technical teams

The paper is free to download with no email sign-up.  It contains plenty of tips and insights based on real-life experience and complementary research plus a few models to help you on your team performance mission.

I hope you enjoy reading and please let me know if you have any questions or ideas to share.
