Doing lots of virtual meetings has been messing with my head when it comes to eye contact.
Usually, I look people in the eye when we’re talking because it shows I’m listening and hopefully helps us make a more human connection. No hard Paddington Bear stares though of course.
So while playing out in virtual-meeting-land my overwhelming urge is to look people in the eye when talking to them. When in reality the experience is actually better for them if you look into the webcam.
Who knew?
Anyway, I’ve now got into the eye-camera-eye vibe. Just hope I can remember the ‘old way’! Or the new way? Or…? Deep breath, Elaine!
